Films of Steam in Southern Africa
These films show life in the days of steam in South Africa in 1975 and 1977. The films feature some of the last steam operations on South African Railways (SAR) and on the industrial lines serving the coal industry.
The 1975 movies were shot using an amateur Standard 8 mm camera, while the 1977 movies were shot using a semi-professional Super 8 camera.
